On March 29, 2024, in order to further understand the development needs of legal service dispute resolution in the securities and financial markets, Wang Chengjie, Deputy Director and Secretary General of the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), and his delegation visited and researched CSISC. CSISC is the only nationwide cross-regional and cross-market mediation institution for securities and futures disputes in China approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC).

During the visit, Secretary General Wang Chengjie had a discussion with Xia Jianting, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Board of Directors of CSI, Huang Yong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of CSISC, Du Lida, General Manager of CSI Legal Service Center, Zhang Jian, Deputy General Manager and other relevant officials around the prevention of legal risks in the securities market，diversified dispute resolution helping resolve financial disputes and other areas of cooperation.

Secretary General Wang Chengjie firstly mentioned that with the deepening of the construction of Shanghai International Financial Center, there is an increasing demand for internationalization, rule of law and professionalization of the financial market.  Especially in the field of dispute resolution in the securities market, there is an urgent need to build a more efficient, transparent and internationalized dispute resolution mechanism. On the basis of the introduction of the internationalization and specialization development path of CIETAC, he pointed out that CIETAC, as the earliest international arbitration institution established in China, has accumulated a large amount of arbitration adjudication experience after more than 60 years of development. And the credibility of CIETAC's arbitration has been universally recognized both domestically and internationally. At the same time, CIETAC also always adheres to the spirit of innovation, actively explores diversified dispute resolution methods suitable for dispute resolution in the financial field in light of the characteristics of financial cases, and continuously improves the informatization construction work, including online filing and online hearing. So as to escort the development of the financial industry through continuous exploration as well as efficient, fair and professional arbitration case hearings.

Xia Jianting, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Huang Yong, General Manager of the CSI Investment Service Center, respectively introduced the development and functions of CSISC, as well as its successful cases and experiences in serving investors and promoting the innovation of dispute resolution mechanisms. During the investigation, the two sides reached a consensus on cooperation in actively promoting the application of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms such as arbitration and mediation in the securities market, utilizing the resources and advantages of both sides, and jointly providing investors with more comprehensive and efficient services.
